About The Position

Mohawk Lifts is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative, safe, and reliable equipment for the automotive lift industry. This role involves playing a key part in developing the next generation of automotive lifting equipment, working closely with manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and service teams. The ideal candidate will be an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, creating practical solutions, and taking ownership of projects from concept through production release, combining strong analytical skills with creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for building world-class products. This is not a role for simply updating drawings or maintaining existing designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• 5+ years of experience as a Design Engineer
• At least 3 years of design experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally involving capital equipment
• Strong CAD experience required; Autodesk Inventor preferred
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and stress analysis
• Experience developing products from concept through production release
• Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Experience with hydraulic systems is a plus
• Electrical engineering knowledge or experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new lift products and product improvements
• Lead engineering projects from concept through production release
• Perform stress analysis and engineering calculations to validate designs
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, and Bills of Material
• Support product certification testing and regulatory compliance efforts
• Collaborate with the manufacturing, purchasing, sales, and service teams
• Develop custom solutions to meet unique customer requirements
