About The Position

Designs, develops, or modifies products, applying engineering principles. Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, costs, time limitations, planning and related technical data to determine feasibility of product proposal. Prepares designs, including calculations, drawings and bills of material for release to manufacturing. Devises new approaches to problems encountered and participates in the research and development of new products. Prepares designs, including calculations, drawings and fabrication procedures for approval by the customer. Interfaces with all shop personnel, engineering, sales, quality assurance, and purchasing to meet customer requirements. Interfaces with customer on technical changes to the job and revises job requirements. Checks designs, including drawings, calculations and bills of materials originated by others. Responsible for investigating and correcting product quality deficiencies.

Requirements

  • 4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience required
  • PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS: Identify problems, investigate the root-cause, and make recommendations for solutions
  • VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Use verbal skills to transfer information to groups
  • WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Prepare business documents, client case notes, technical reports, manuals, articles, etc.
  • MATH SKILLS: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios, statistical inference, frequency distribution, trigonometry, calculus, algebra, validity, etc.
  • COMPUTER SKILLS: Financial Software, Internet/e-mail, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software, Computer Aided Drafting Software
  • Ability to sit

  • Ability to hear conversation
