About The Position

We are DEDC LLC, a full-service, multi-disciplined engineering and design firm. We are seeking Mechanical Engineers for our growing professional staff. We are looking for engineers who can translate technical requirements into practical, reliable designs and collaborate with colleagues and project stakeholders. We are willing to consider engineers of any experience level. These pivotal roles will design and draw specifications for bidding and construction. They will focus on scope development, complete various engineering calculations and analyses, contribute to the final design process, and provide technical support during construction. This position is based out of our Newark, DE location. The target salary range is $120,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience. Requirements

  • Four-year engineering degree, or equivalent.
  • 5 or more years of mechanical engineering experience with clients in sectors including Higher Ed, Pharmaceutical, Biopharma & Biotech, and other Science & Tech Industries is helpful.
  • Previous experience in a consulting engineering firm is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Revit software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Solid understanding of building and life safety codes.
  • Relentless attention to detail and well-organized.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with clients, partners, vendors, and peers.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Project-related travel when needed.
  • A self-motivated thinker and doer who can work independently and with a team.
  • A passionate engineer who actively works to develop relationships with customers and actively participates in professional organizations and/or civic activities to meet and interact with potential customers.
  • A curious and inquisitive engineer with a passion for designing creative and forward-thinking solutions for our clients.
  • A collaborative person to assist management, team members, and clients in navigating the complexity of everyday engineering design and construction.
  • Ability to juggle a few competing priorities and be flexible to changing goals and demands on your time.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
  • Perform engineering calculations.
  • Select and specify equipment.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed electrical designs, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop construction drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project teams, and suppliers on other aspects of the project.
  • Support design reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical issues.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, project requirements, and safety expectations.
  • Maintain clear records and communicate design decisions and project updates.
