About The Position

The PageWide Industrial Division of HP designs and delivers complex, high-volume digital printing presses to the international printing market. Utilizing inkjet technology with nearly 40 years of core technology development experience, these presses deliver unmatched print quality, speed, and productivity, driving innovation in various graphics market segments including publishing, direct mail/marketing, general commercial printing, and packaging. As a PWI Mechanical Engineer you will work in a dynamic and changing environment, designing mechanical systems and sub-systems for current and next generation digital inkjet web press platforms. This will require interdisciplinary problem-solving and leadership skills where you will engage closely with Customers, other R&D teams, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement and Supplier engineering teams to bring new products and technology from ideas to reality. As a successful new product design engineer, you will create designs both internally, using HP’s 3D and 2D CAD tools, as well as directing external resources as needed. You will research new technologies and provide innovative solutions to solve problems, meet design objectives and deliver new products to the market. You will assume full engineering responsibility for designs, documenting all aspects, including BOMs, drawings, assembly docs and Theory of Operations, to ensure smooth manufacturing and functionality in the field leading up to the successful transfer of responsibility to other teams for long term support. Additionally, you will consult on projects/designs from other teams to provide your expertise and help team members improve their contributions.
