About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems
  • Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm
  • Good writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • US Citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of projects ranging from major power plant modifications to smaller design initiatives.
  • Work as part of a multi-discipline engineering team on cooling water systems, including pumps, motors, control systems, piping, and heat exchangers for existing or new power plants.
  • Lead a valve replacement project, evaluating equipment options, or preparing technical reports such as corrosion studies or evaluations of equipment options.
  • Prepare accurate and error-free drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses that meet industry codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring client needs are met with precision.
  • Develop engineering documents in alignment with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements while following established procedures, processes, and project directives.
  • Keep your knowledge sharp and current with industry codes, standards, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques tailored to the nuclear sector.
  • Produce engineering deliverables that meet stringent quality assurance standards, aligning with project scopes and exceeding client expectations.
  • Establish trust and rapport with clients through clear communication, professional interactions, and the delivery of exceptional engineering solutions.
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure designs are comprehensive, integrated, and consider the needs of all disciplines involved.
  • Travel to plant sites to connect with client personnel, conduct on-site walkdowns, and evaluate plant structures, systems, and components firsthand to inform project work.
