Mechanical Design Engineer
About The Position
ALMACO in Nevada, IA is seeking an innovative, detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer who wants to work on a small team, get experience with a wide variety of products, and loves to watch technical ideas come to life in the real world. The Mechanical Design Engineer position at ALMACO is a full-time exempt position with flexible day-shift hours. ALMACO offers flexible schedules and PTO that starts accruing on day one. This role is for individuals who are curious about many areas in the business and have the agency to find solutions and step up to projects.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
- Two to three years of experience designing mechanical products, equipment, or machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Working proficiency with 3D parametric CAD software; SolidWorks experience is preferred.
- Must be able to create and interpret production drawings, assemblies, tolerances, and bills of material.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Customer-service orientation and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Comfort learning job-specific software and working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Nice To Haves
- SolidWorks experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop and improve mechanical and electro-mechanical products.
- Work directly with manufacturing to move designs into production!
- Support prototypes, testing, and product improvement.
