We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer III (HVAC) to support the design and delivery of complex facility projects. This role will serve as an Area Lead or experienced design engineer, contributing to HVAC, utilities, and plumbing systems while taking on increasing design and coordination responsibility. The position combines hands-on engineering with project involvement from early design through construction.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in engineering field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience
  • Mechanical degree or Architectural Engineering degree with focus on mechanical building systems
  • Professional registration (PE License) in mechanical or other relevant engineering field
  • Ability to supervise and lead a diverse design team to work effectively with both internal and external organizations
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an engineering design firm developing mechanical (HVAC, utilities, and plumbing) construction documents

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting projects in data centers, semiconductor & microelectronics, or life sciences/pharmaceutical facilities
  • Experience working within engineering consulting or project delivery environments
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Practical experience supporting construction, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and coordination of HVAC systems, utilities, and plumbing systems for complex facility projects
  • Develop and review project scope, design criteria, and key engineering deliverables
  • Prepare and check calculations, specifications, and construction documents in accordance with codes and client requirements
  • Assist with planning and tracking discipline work, including estimates, schedules, and progress
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated and constructible designs
  • Participate in equipment procurement activities, including vendor data review and technical support
  • Provide engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning
  • Assist in development of permitting and subcontract packages
  • Serve as a technical resource within assigned areas
  • Support mentoring and guidance of junior engineers and designers
