About The Position

This role involves taking ownership of component modifications, including reviewing sourcing and supplier quotes for proposed cost reduction. The engineer will develop cost pareto models, perform mechanical design of hardware, and define models and drawings. Responsibilities also include creating PLM Bills of Materials (BoMs) and change instructions, supporting hardware procurement, manufacturing, and assembly processes, and collaborating with various engineering and support teams. The role requires interfacing directly with suppliers to review cost reduction ideas, cost impact, and manufacturability limits, as well as providing shop support and interfacing for dispositioning non-conformances. Additionally, the engineer will process supplier qualifications and review Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs), and monitor modified parts through final assembly and fleet launch.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in NX modeling, specifically Mechanical and Routing modules.
  • Experience with Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) and Drafting.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, and fundamental stack ups.
  • Proficiency in Ansys Classic.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with design, analysis, and manufacturing of gas turbine combustion components like fuel nozzles, endcover, casings, caps, liners, transition pieces, flow sleeves, TP aft frames, and crossfire tubes.
  • Familiarity with organizational design practices, lifing methods, and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Support hardware procurement, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with drafting, sourcing, manufacturing, aero, heat transfer, materials, repair, and value engineering teams.
  • Interface directly with suppliers to review cost reduction ideas, cost impact, and manufacturability limits.
  • Provide shop support and interface for dispositioning non-conformances.
  • Process supplier qualifications and review Supplier Deviation Requests (SDRs).
  • Monitor modified parts through final assembly and fleet launch.
