Come join our team! Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer I. POSITION SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, provide engineering support for new and existing projects. Products include shock and vibration isolation mounts, laminated elastomer bearing based components for offshore riser and tendon connections as well as military applications, industrial clutch and brakes and hang-off systems for offshore riser components. Will often work with more experienced co-workers on projects.

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with at least 0-2 years of direct experience; or at least 6 years of direct experience without a degree
Basic knowledge or some experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2d CAD a plus
Basic knowledge or some experience using FEA tools a plus
Demonstrated programming and data analysis skills a plus
Effective organizational skills
Detail-focused and results-oriented attitude with a sense of urgency.
Handle multiple tasks at one time.
Effective written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
Proof of US Citizenship (Dual Citizenship cannot be accepted)

Nice To Haves

Basic knowledge or some experience using SolidWorks 3D CAD and AutoCAD 2d CAD

Responsibilities

Develop a working knowledge for each assigned project
Design procedures, in-house codes, industry standards and fundamental structural design practices
CAD software and FEA codes
GD&T principles
Drawing formats and procedures
Manufacturing processes
Testing processes
Review design bases and reports, test plans, material specifications and any other necessary technical documents
Assist with design, analysis, testing and engineering documentation activities
Assist with Material Review Board activities
Other duties as assigned
