About The Position

Agility Robotics is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Drafter to join their agile and rapidly growing mechanical engineering team in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role is crucial for designing the next generation of Digit, their commercially deployed humanoid robots, ensuring highly reliable and robust designs for large-scale production. The Mechanical Designer will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to create well-documented, production-ready robot designs that meet complex customer requirements. The robots operate in demanding environments, performing repetitive and heavily loaded tasks, making robust design critical for successful deployment.

Requirements

  • Expert in Creo, including top down modeling, drafting, and library management
  • Expert in Windchill, promotion requests, file management, BOM management
  • Fluent in the application of GD&T to mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Expert knowledge in several of the following manufacturing processes: sheet metal, machining, casting, injection molding
  • 5+ years of mechanical designer experience

  • Altuim CoDesigner experience
  • Experience with tolerance analysis
  • Windchill PDM Administration experience
  • Jira/Confluence experience
  • A.S. Electro/Mechanical Design Drafting

Responsibilities

  • Creo CAD model and drafting creation and management to Agility standards
  • Sourcing OTS component models and integrating them in the assembly
  • Updating CAD based on engineering analysis inputs
  • Detail drafting of parts and assemblies
  • CAD Library management
  • CAD template management
  • CAD data management in Windchill
  • BOM creation and management
  • Submission and herding of Promotion Requests
  • Identification of OTS components that meet engineering specifications
  • Product design in support of engineering requirements
  • Support cross-functional design reviews through production of quality CAD screenshots, renderings, and creation of presentation slides
