About The Position

This is a temporary role (6-month contract) where the individual will be responsible for designing electrical harness drawings across the Fire & Safety product line. The technician will collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure products meet functional and reliability requirements for mission-critical applications. The successful candidate will perform a combination of hands-on testing, troubleshooting, procedure execution, quality assurance, and project management activities.

Requirements

Proficient with 3D modeling software – preferably SolidWorks.
Possess a general knowledge of component fitments as well as GD&T.
Ability to translate concepts into buildable models and designs.
Ability to develop detailed drawings and bills of materials for parts and assemblies.

Responsibilities

Creation and editing of models and assemblies in SolidWorks.
Development of detail drawings, bills of material, specifications.
Update existing production designs and drawings.
Establish test plans to validate new/modified designs or benchmark existing designs.
Prepare engineering changes, process documentation, and reports.
Interface with sales, product management, manufacturing, outside suppliers, and end users.
Analyze customer requirements and test results and propose solutions.
Research alternative methods, components, designs, processes, or materials.
Troubleshoot with production staff to resolve issues that occur on the floor during the build cycle.
All other duties as assigned.
