Mechanical Department Manager
About The Position
A multi-discipline consulting firm is seeking a Mechanical Department Manager for their growing team in Albany, New York! This role involves managing the Mechanical Engineering department, overseeing staff workload, coordinating projects with MEP teams and other disciplines, and ensuring timely completion. The manager will also review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules, assess project and financial performance, prepare construction drawings and specifications, build and maintain client relationships, and provide technical leadership. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities in production/scheduling, quality control, cost proposals, assisting with business development, and facilitating/attending construction administration meetings, including reviewing contractor submittals and providing feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 18+ years of overall MEP experience with a strong focus on HVAC projects
- 8+ years of project management experience
- Prior experience working with local municipalities/government agencies
- Experience managing Mechanical/HVAC staff at various levels
- Authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
