About The Position

The Mechanical Contracting Project Manager coordinates proposals and bids and oversees the execution of retrofit projects in his/her portfolio. Retrofit projects range from $500 to $1.5 million and can include simple VAV box additions to 1000 ton water-cooled chillers and tower replacements. This position will also provide construction management services for Brady’s longer projects.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Construction or Project Management preferred
  • minimum 5 years of experience managing construction projects
  • 2 years of experience of working in the HVAC industry or mechanical piping industry required
  • Basic AutoCAD knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Dynamics
  • Working knowledge in estimating software
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets service bulletins, technical procedure manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, and other service personnel.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to pass drug screening
  • Ability to prove US employment eligibility

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical H1, H2, and H3 licenses preferred
  • Construction or project management certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team and engineering to evaluate retrofit and replacement projects and develop turnkey solutions
  • Turn concepts, rough or detailed drawings into detailed estimates
  • Prepare professional proposals and aid in the sale as needed
  • Manage the operation and installation practices associated with steam, water, and air systems
  • Understand basic control sequences and system operation
  • Execute all pre-planning details including, but not limited to, preparation of bill of materials and pre-ordering of materials and equipment needed to complete the project
  • Continuously communicate with the construction supervisor and job foreman to coordinate manpower, material and subcontractor needs
  • Support Field foreman by ensuring he/she is properly prepared to complete project successfully
  • Overall responsibility for project fulfillment and safety oversight
  • Develop and manage a budget based on the estimate and site conditions
  • Demonstrate and promote a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company
  • Continually look for ways to improve our processes and ability to serve our customers effectively

  • Provide responsive, professional and diplomatic customer service
  • Answer customer calls and correspondence quickly and pleasantly
  • Communicate with customers in a friendly, professional, and patient manner
  • Perform all duties with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
  • Immediately address any customer’s concern and requests the involvement of other Company personnel as required
  • Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to your Team Leader
  • Notify Manager or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions
