About The Position
The Mechanical Construction Supervisor III is responsible for mechanical field oversight and quality inspections of the EPC contractor to ensure work is completed per approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. You will support a greenfield power generation project involving the installation of five simple‑cycle combustion turbines. The project includes full site development, turbine erection, mechanical systems installation, and associated balance‑of‑plant equipment.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of mechanical construction oversight experience
- Power plant or heavy industrial project experience
- 1+ years of experience with ArcGIS, Survey123, or Procore
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Combustion turbine experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Oversee mechanical construction activities, including turbine installation, piping, supports, valves, and auxiliary equipment
- Perform mechanical quality inspections using ArcGIS / Survey123
- Verify work aligns with mechanical drawings, specs, and contract standards
- Document inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions in Xcel Energy systems
- Participate in daily Plan of the Day (POD) meetings
- Coordinate inspection readiness and field access with the EPC contractor
- Support punch‑list development, turnover readiness, and mechanical completion
- Maintain a safety presence on an active construction site
