About The Position
Skillforce has teamed up with a leading mechanical contractor to find a skilled Mechanical Construction Superintendent to work on their commercial and industrial projects. This is a full-time, direct hire position based out of Charleston, SC with occasional local travel.
Requirements
- 8+ years of commercial/industrial mechanical construction experience
- 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, sheet metal, plumbing, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Nice To Haves
- Journeyman/Master license and OSHA 30 preferred
- Experience with large commercial/industrial projects and BIM/digital construction tools preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical foremen, apprentices, helpers, and subcontractors
- Plan daily activities and maintain short-term schedules
- Ensure work meets drawings, specifications, codes, and safety requirements
- Coordinate with GCs, other trades, inspectors, and Project Managers
- Monitor manpower, productivity, and project progress
- Take off, price, and order materials
- Assist with change orders, inspections, punch lists, and closeout
- Maintain daily reports and field documentation
