About The Position

Kick‑start your engineering career by helping shape the next generation of high‑performance rotating machinery. The Mechanical Compressor Engineer is an entry‑level mechanical engineering role on our centrifugal compressor engineering team, offering hands‑on exposure to real‑world product development and a clear path for professional growth. In this role, you’ll apply core mechanical engineering principles to the design, analysis, development, and testing of complex rotating machinery and critical sub‑components. You’ll play an active part in driving cost reductions, improving performance, and enhancing the reliability of both new and existing products. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse, cross‑functional technical team and work side‑by‑side with experienced senior engineers who are invested in your development. The role primarily focuses on large centrifugal compressors for York® water‑cooled chillers, and is based onsite at our Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be within commuting distance or willing to willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is available.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Participation in a tangible senior class engineering project and/or internship experience
  • US Citizen and/or permanent resident.
  • Sponsorship is not provided

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to test operators and interface with compressor technicians.
  • Perform data collection and analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with other JCI engineering groups to develop new products.
  • Interface with product managers, project managers, product technical support associates, and multiple international manufacturing plants.
  • Assist in various assigned projects within the compressor engineering department as necessary.
