About The Position

As a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer for the Cedar Creek project, an 1,100 MW simple-cycle gas turbine power project entering startup, you will serve as the owner's witness and technical expert for various mechanical systems. These systems include inlet air, fuel gas, lube oil, water treatment, fire protection, HVAC, and the mechanical balance of plant. Your role is crucial in ensuring the successful mechanical commissioning and turnover of these critical components.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commissioning mechanical systems on power or process plants.
  • Hands-on experience with lube oil flushing and rotating equipment startup.
  • Working knowledge of ASME codes.
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, Procore, and AI tools used with human verification.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or equivalent years of field experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Owner-side commissioning experience.
  • OSHA 30 (provided by the project after mobilization if not already held).

Responsibilities

  • Review mechanical commissioning procedures before execution.
  • Witness flushing, cleaning, leak testing, and functional testing of mechanical systems.
  • Track system readiness through to turnover.
  • Drive resolution of mechanical startup issues with the contractor and vendors.
  • Verify preservation is maintained throughout the commissioning period.
  • Support performance testing of mechanical systems.
