As a Commodity Manager at Axon, you will own supplier and category performance for assigned spend areas, ensuring continuity of supply, strong quality and delivery performance, and competitive total cost. You will partner across planning, engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product teams to reduce risk, support new product introductions, and strengthen Axon’s supply base as we scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, commodity management, or category management.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships in a manufacturing, hardware, or operations-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers at multiple levels.

  • Track record of driving measurable improvements in cost, quality, delivery, inventory, or supply continuity.
  • APICS, ISM, PMP, or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own supplier performance for assigned categories, including quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and execute category strategies that reduce supply risk, improve competitiveness, and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Lead supplier business reviews and maintain strong supplier relationships to drive accountability and performance.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to communicate short- and long-term forecasts and align supplier readiness with business needs.
  • Assess supplier and market dynamics to identify sourcing risks, cost opportunities, and supply base optimization strategies.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives to benchmark and evaluate incumbent and new suppliers on cost, capability, quality, capacity, and commercial terms.
  • Optimize inventory and working capital through replenishment strategies, lead time improvements, MOQ negotiation, and supplier collaboration.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements in support of business and category objectives.
  • Support new product introductions by aligning sourcing strategy and supplier readiness with product requirements and launch timelines.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Product Management, Demand Planning, and Sales Operations to resolve supplier issues and align on expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for supplier-related issues within assigned categories.
