About The Position

As a Mechanical Assembler at BW Packaging, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of machines, equipment, and conveyor systems, utilizing hand and power tools while reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. You will collaborate within a team environment to assist with machine start-up, debugging, testing, and customer acceptance testing, while also identifying problems and recommending solutions. Additionally, you will support the preparation of equipment for shipping, including tear-down and crating of machinery, in a non-climate-controlled environment.

Requirements

3+ years of assembly experience required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Will need to bring own basic hand tools

Responsibilities

Perform mechanical assembly of machines, equipment, sub-assemblies, and components, including the assembly and testing of conveyor systems
Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings and blueprints, with the ability to convert measurements between decimals and fractions
Operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and manlifts safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks
Assist with final machine adjustments, start-up, debugging, testing, and customer acceptance testing to ensure equipment meets specifications
Identify mechanical problems during the assembly and testing process and recommend appropriate solutions
Work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Prepare finished equipment for shipping, including tear-down and crating of machinery for safe transport
Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and safety standards
