About The Position

PacSci EMC is hiring a full-time Mechanical Assembler to perform production assembly work in explosive-handling areas. The role works under direct supervision and supports continuous improvement in operations and assembly processes. Duties include weighing and pressing inert and energetic materials, performing inert assembly operations, and assembling, modifying, reworking, or reassembling components and subassemblies using visual aids, drawings, and verbal or written instructions. New assignments receive detailed instruction, and on-the-job training is provided. The position requires dexterity for safe handling of explosive devices and may require offsite training to maintain certifications such as JSTD. Overtime is required on Fridays and Saturdays as needed, and the role requires lifting up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

Ability to understand and speak English, and to read and write in English.
U.S. citizenship is listed as a requirement.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to perform the role's work in explosive-handling areas.

Responsibilities

Work under direct supervision.
Weigh and press inert and energetic materials.
Set up and use an analytical balance.
Perform inert assembly operations.
Perform minor cabling, potting, tinning, and assembly work.
Set up and use a powder press for pressing operations.
Perform minor setup for specific equipment.
Perform production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
Use visual aids, drawings, and verbal and written instructions to assemble, modify, rework, or reassemble units.
Install subassemblies.
Handle explosive devices safely using proficient dexterity.
Attend offsite training classes as required to maintain certification requirements, such as JSTD.
Work overtime on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.
