The Mechanical Assembler builds and assembles mechanical components for Switchgear and/or Breaker units in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. The role includes maintaining and properly using tools, conducting in-process inspections, following standard work instructions, identifying risks to product quality, and performing ship-preparation functions, including splitting gear. The assembler helps promote a safe workplace and keeps work areas clean and organized. This is a safety-sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment, with occasional outside activities. The work may involve ladders and elevated structures, typically at heights up to 20 feet, using appropriate lift and fall-protection equipment. Personal protective equipment is required, including safety shoes, hard hats or bump caps, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses as required, and respirators when required. Physical demands include continuous standing and walking, maintaining balance while moving or climbing, bending, reaching, frequent use of both arms—including above the shoulders—and lifting up to 50 pounds. Powell describes a collaborative, can-do culture with opportunities for advancement and promotion while maintaining work-life balance. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
