About The Position

The Mechanical Assembler requires a wide range of skills to prepare bulk container handling equipment both mechanically and simple electrical assemblies. This role involves using drawings, schematics, and bills of materials to build equipment, reduce non-value-added work, and perform various assembly tasks using hand tools. The work must be of high quality, neat, and efficient. The assembler will also complete quality assurance checks, provide accurate documentation, and prepare equipment for shipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability properly use a tap measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Use Busse machine drawings, machine assembly drawings, controls schematics and relevant bills of materials to proficiently build according to drawings and problem solve where needed.
  • Engage in the reduction and/or elimination of non-value-added work throughout the organization.
  • Utilize hand tools proficiently in performing the following tasks: Structural assembly, Mechanical drive assembly, Fluid control assembly, Guard and cover assembly, Mechanical assembly, simple electrical assembly.
  • Work must represent quality workmanship, neatness, with acceptable efficiencies.
  • Complete quality assurance checks for the Busse Blue Books.
  • Provide accurate documentation skills that includes labor reporting, material issue/returns, material moves, and material scrap reports.
  • Execute Busse inventory re-ordering policies that includes "Kanban".
  • Prepare equipment for shipment including, but not limited to, machine teardown.
