As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in operations and the assembly process. This role provides on-the-job training (OJT) and all work is performed in explosive handling areas. You will work under direct supervision, weighing and pressing inert & energetic materials, and setting up and using analytical balances. Responsibilities include performing inert assembly operations, minor cabling, potting, tinning, and assembly work. You will also set up and use a powder press for pressing operations, possess some minor set-up capability for specific equipment, and may have basic soldering experience. The role involves performing various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies, using visual aids, drawings, and written/verbal instructions to assemble, modify, re-work, or re-assemble units. You will receive detailed instructions on new assignments and install sub-assemblies. A key requirement is displaying proficient dexterity for the safe handling of explosive devices. If required, you will attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements (e.g., JSTD) and perform other duties as assigned.
