About The Position

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be a key contributor to driving continuous improvement in operations and the assembly process. This role involves working under direct supervision and performing various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies. You will use visual aids, drawings, and written/verbal instructions to assemble, modify, re-work, or re-assemble units. The position requires proficient dexterity for the safe handling of explosive devices, as all work is performed in explosive handling areas. On-the-job training (OJT) will be provided. Attendance at offsite training classes may be required to maintain certification requirements (e.g., JSTD).

Requirements

  • Able to work under direct supervision.
  • Must have the ability to understand, speak, read and write in English.
  • Minimum one-two years of industry assembly work required.
  • US citizenship is a requirement for this position due to U.S. Government contractual requirements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.
  • May have some basic soldering experience.
  • Soldering/welding experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work under direct supervision.
  • Weigh and press inert & energetic materials.
  • Set up and use analytical balance.
  • Perform inert assembly operations.
  • Minor cabling, potting, tinning and assembly work.
  • Set up and use powder press for pressing operation.
  • Perform some minor set-up capability for specific equipment.
  • Perform various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
  • Use visual aids, drawings and verbal and written instruction to assemble, modify, re-work or re-assemble units.
  • Install sub-assemblies.
  • Display proficient dexterity to insure safe handling of explosive devices.
  • Attend offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
