About The Position

We have immediate openings for various levels of Electrical Assemblers in our Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) department. As an assembler of Automatic Transfer Switches, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and growing industry. The Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for acting as a key team member to our manufacturing operation, offering technical expertise. They will read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate and assemble materials and equipment. This includes positioning, bolting, screwing, clipping, adjusting or fastening parts and components together using hand, power tools, and equipment. They will also mount electrical components, including circuit breakers, switches, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, input/output devices and/or all other related switchgear electrical devices. Layout and framing of enclosures, drilling, tapping, punching, mounting and installing bus bar sections per drawings or instructions are also key responsibilities. Following ISO 9001 standards, practicing 5S and LEAN manufacturing Standards, and reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics are essential. The role requires working in a safe, clean, systematic manner working to C.S.A, and company quality requirements. Training is provided.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with electrical and/or mechanical with strong analytical skills
  • Experience or training in mechanical/ industrial assembly is considered an asset
  • Experience with power tools – jig saws, grinders, pneumatic tools, cutters
  • Comprehension of wires sizes and corresponding carrying capacity
  • Physically fit; ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Must be flexible, highly motivated, organized & show attention to details

Responsibilities

  • Act as a key team member to our manufacturing operation, offering technical expertise
  • Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate and assemble materials and equipment.
  • Position, bolt, screw, clip, adjust or fasten parts and components together using hand, power tools, and equipment
  • Mount electrical components, including circuit breakers, switches, transformers, relays, contactors, terminals, input/output devices and/or all other related switchgear electrical devices.
  • Layout and frame enclosures.
  • Drilling, tapping, punching, mounting and installing bus bar sections per drawings or instructions.
  • Following ISO 9001 standards, practicing 5S and LEAN manufacturing Standards
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics

  • Completely and efficiently handle any assigned job with minimal supervision
