About The Position

PacSci EMC is hiring a full-time Mechanical Assembler for a weekend shift, Friday through Sunday, 5 AM to 6 PM. Working under direct supervision, the assembler performs production assembly operations on components and subassemblies, including work with inert and energetic materials. The role includes weighing and pressing materials, performing inert assembly, and carrying out minor cabling, potting, tinning, assembly, and potentially basic soldering. Work is performed in explosive-handling areas and requires proficient dexterity to handle explosive devices safely. On-the-job training is provided; offsite training may be required to maintain certifications. Overtime is required on Fridays and Saturdays as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and speak English, and to read and write in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient dexterity for safe handling of explosive devices.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Weigh and press inert and energetic materials.
• Set up and use an analytical balance and powder press.
• Perform inert assembly operations and minor cabling, potting, tinning, and assembly work.
• Perform minor equipment setup and, where applicable, basic soldering.
• Carry out production assembly operations on components and subassemblies.
• Use visual aids, drawings, and verbal and written instructions to assemble, modify, rework, or reassemble units.
• Install subassemblies.
• Handle explosive devices safely using proficient dexterity.
• Attend offsite training classes when required to maintain certification requirements.
