About The Position
We're looking for a Mechanical Assembler to join a manufacturing team responsible for assembling and testing enclosed drive gearboxes. This is a hands-on position ideal for candidates with mechanical assembly experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment. The role involves assembling gearboxes and subassemblies, reading blueprints, using measuring tools, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of mechanical assembly or industrial manufacturing experience
- Material handling experience required
- Ability to read assembly blueprints in English
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Knowledge of shop safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to cross-train and adapt to changing priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Responsibilities
- Assemble and test enclosed drive gearboxes
- Perform gearbox and subassembly assembly operations
- Read assembly blueprints and use calipers and other precision measuring instruments
- Record measurements and production data accurately
- Troubleshoot assembly issues and make necessary corrections
- Maintain organized work areas, equipment, and tools
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly and testing areas
- Assist with process improvements and team problem-solving
- Perform additional duties as assigned
