About The Position

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will help build industrial process equipment that customers depend on to keep production moving. You will work on-site in Whitewater, Wisconsin, at Coperion, a Hillenbrand company. We design and manufacture feeding and material handling solutions that accurately measure and move material into manufacturing systems. Your work supports safe operations, consistent output, and long-term growth by helping deliver dependable equipment that performs the right way, every day.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or production work, or vocational training that prepares you for industrial equipment assembly.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, pictures, and basic drawings with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools, and learn site-specific fixtures, gauges, and torque methods.
  • Ability to build to specification by checking alignment, orientation, fastener torque (when required), and basic functional outcomes.
  • Ability to recognise problems, use sound judgement, and escalate concerns through established quality and material control processes.
  • Ability to complete basic documentation for builds, inspections, and material tracking to support traceability.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, including standing and walking for long periods, bending, reaching, and lifting or moving parts with or without assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble feeder equipment, parts, and subassemblies by following work instructions, drawings, routings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and pneumatic tools safely to complete mechanical assembly work to specification.
  • Fit, align, and fasten components in the correct orientation and sequence, and verify builds match instructions and drawings.
  • Complete basic in-process quality checks, including visual checks, simple functional checks, and torque verification when required.
  • Record work completed, parts used, and quality checks in required paperwork or systems to support traceability and disciplined execution.
  • Identify issues such as missing parts, damaged materials, or out-of-spec conditions, and follow site steps to tag, separate, and report concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation by following personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, housekeeping standards, and 5S practices.
