About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Assembler II to support the mechanical assembly and disassembly of generators and other MQ power and construction products. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform mid-level assembly work on generators, pumps, concrete mixers, and related equipment, using technical documentation to ensure precision, quality, and safety throughout the build and refurbishment process. Requirements

  • 3+ years of mechanical assembly experience, preferably in a manufacturing or refurbishment environment.
  • Strong proficiency with hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and small cranes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems.
  • Basic math skills for measurements, layouts, and calculations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable working at heights, on ladders or scaffolding, and in confined spaces.
  • Positive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime as production demands require.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and use of hands for handling and assembly work.
  • Frequent lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Minor electrical wiring and soldering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical disassembly and reassembly of generators, including DCA units, studio refurbishments, and container refurbishments.
  • Assemble, modify, fit, and align equipment and components using drilling, grinding, mounting, and fastening techniques.
  • Support subassembly builds such as pumps, mixers, trailers, and related equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain parts, components, and subassemblies during the build process.
  • Apply labels, nameplates, and identifying markings to completed units.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly instructions, and technical specifications to determine proper methods and build sequences.
  • Drill, tap, ream, and countersink holes using hand tools, power tools, and drill presses.
  • Perform minor electrical wiring and soldering as required.
  • Gather, stage, and prepare parts, tools, materials, and subassemblies for assigned work.
  • Inspect assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements.
  • Identify issues, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Follow all quality control procedures to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, and small cranes to safely move and position equipment and materials.
  • Assist with inventory monitoring and production needs.
  • Train, mentor, and support Level I Assemblers.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and safety briefings as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and production goals.
