About The Position

The production assembler is responsible for assembling from sub-assembly to the finished unit according to drawings, travelers, and manufacturing procedures. This role involves performing electromechanical assemblies, potentially assembling ultra-miniature assemblies or being fully proficient in a specific product line. The assembler will operate standard shop equipment, rework malfunctioning units, and communicate with the calibration department to ensure accuracy and proper operation. Ongoing cross-training is expected to enhance skills and knowledge. The position also requires welding miniature parts under a microscope for extended periods and the ability to process more complex assemblies with minimal oversight. Other duties as assigned may be part of the role.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, soldering under a microscope
Must be able to read and understand engineering assembly drawings.
Advanced schematic reading and ability to troubleshoot assemblies.
Good mechanical aptitude.
Good dexterity of hands and eyes.
Good communication skills.
Certified for J-STD C or IPC-610.
Must be a local candidate.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and will not now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa.

Responsibilities

Performs electromechanical assemblies in the form of sub-assemblies and final assembly product under a microscope.
Assemble ultra-miniature assemblies or be fully proficient in a specific product line.
Operates standard shop equipment including soldering iron, microscope, ultrasonic cleaner, and furnaces.
Reworks malfunctioning units.
Communicates with the calibration department to ensure accurate assembly and proper operation of the units.
Conduct ongoing cross-training to increase skills and knowledge.
Weld miniature parts under a microscope for extended periods during the work shift.
Flexible and capable of processing more complex assemblies with minimal oversight.
Performs other duties as assigned.
