About The Position

The Mechanical Assembler II performs intermediate to complex mechanical assembly tasks. This role requires previous experience assembling electro-mechanical components and an understanding of PCBA integration processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–4 years of mechanical assembly experience in a PCBA or electronics setting.
  • Proficiency in reading English technical documents and communicating in verbal/written form.
  • Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
  • Use of torque drivers, calipers, and ESD-compliant tools.
  • Understanding of revision control, BOM structures, and ERP systems.
  • Ability to identify mechanical mismatches, escalate problems, and offer solutions.
  • Capable of training junior staff on procedures and tools.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret assembly drawings and documentation (BOMs, exploded views, ECNs).
  • Assemble mechanical subassemblies with PCBAs and wire harnesses into enclosures.
  • Apply torque specifications correctly using calibrated tools.
  • Conduct in-process checks for proper hardware installation and alignment.
  • Support troubleshooting and rework of minor mechanical issues.
  • May assist in prototype or engineering builds.
  • Communicates regularly with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Technicians.
  • Provides feedback on work instruction clarity and improvement opportunities.
  • Works closely with team members to ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and suppliers.
  • Occasionally interacts with vendors or technicians during onsite support or audits.
