About The Position
The Mechanical Assembler II performs intermediate to complex mechanical assembly tasks. This role requires previous experience assembling electro-mechanical components and an understanding of PCBA integration processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–4 years of mechanical assembly experience in a PCBA or electronics setting.
- Proficiency in reading English technical documents and communicating in verbal/written form.
- Ability to interpret complex mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
- Use of torque drivers, calipers, and ESD-compliant tools.
- Understanding of revision control, BOM structures, and ERP systems.
- Ability to identify mechanical mismatches, escalate problems, and offer solutions.
- Capable of training junior staff on procedures and tools.
Nice To Haves
- IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or equivalent preferred.
Responsibilities
- Interpret assembly drawings and documentation (BOMs, exploded views, ECNs).
- Assemble mechanical subassemblies with PCBAs and wire harnesses into enclosures.
- Apply torque specifications correctly using calibrated tools.
- Conduct in-process checks for proper hardware installation and alignment.
- Support troubleshooting and rework of minor mechanical issues.
- May assist in prototype or engineering builds.
- Communicates regularly with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Technicians.
- Provides feedback on work instruction clarity and improvement opportunities.
- Works closely with team members to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and suppliers.
- Occasionally interacts with vendors or technicians during onsite support or audits.
