As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in operations and the assembly process. This role provides on-the-job training (OJT) and all work is performed in explosive handling areas. You will work under direct supervision, weighing and pressing inert & energetic materials, setting up and using an analytical balance, and performing inert assembly operations. Tasks may include minor cabling, potting, tinning, and assembly work, as well as setting up and using a powder press. Some minor set-up capability for specific equipment is expected, and basic soldering experience may be utilized. You will perform various production assembly operations on components and subassemblies, using visual aids, drawings, and verbal/written instructions. Installation of sub-assemblies is also a key function. Proficient dexterity is required for the safe handling of explosive devices. Attendance at offsite training classes to maintain certification requirements (e.g., JSTD) may be necessary. Other duties as assigned.
