About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to perform mechanical assembly operations in support of Counter-UAS platform production on a factory floor. This role is responsible for assembling sub-assemblies onto pallets using work instructions, engineering drawings, and bills of material while ensuring compliance with established quality, safety, and production standards. The position requires the use of standard assembly tools and equipment and supports efficient manufacturing flow, schedule execution, and overall production readiness.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 4 years of mechanical assembly experience in a manufacturing, production, or factory floor environment
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and bills of material
  • Experience using standard hand tools, power tools, torque tools, and measuring devices
  • Ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks accurately and efficiently in accordance with established processes
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain workmanship, quality, and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift or move materials as required to support factory floor operations

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using common hand tools and basic power tools.
  • Read and follow work instructions, assembly drawings, parts lists, and standard operating procedures.
  • Install brackets, panels, fasteners, mounts, cable supports, and other hardware according to specifications.
  • Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, and basic adjustment of system components to ensure proper assembly and function.
  • Verify parts and materials before installation to ensure correct part numbers, quantities, and configuration.
  • Use measuring devices such as tape measures, rulers, calipers, and torque tools to meet assembly and tolerance requirements.
  • Safely handle components, assemblies, and palletized structures during build operations.
  • Support integration of mechanical assemblies with electrical and cable-routing elements as directed.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, completeness, and workmanship; identify and report discrepancies, defects, or damaged parts.
  • Maintain accurate production and assembly records, including checklists and completion documentation.
  • Follow established safety procedures, PPE requirements, and tool-control practices at all times.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with 5S or similar housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with packaging, pallet preparation, labeling, and movement of completed assemblies when required.
  • Work closely with team leads, quality personnel, and engineering support to resolve basic assembly issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve assembly efficiency, quality, and consistency.
  • Perform other related mechanical assembly duties as assigned in support of production goals
