How you will make an Impact (Job Summary) SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Mechanical Assembler, you will play a critical part in the production of advanced pipeline inspection systems by assembling complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and cable harness sub-systems to exact specifications that meet rigorous industry standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Able to read mechanical assembly drawings and follow instructions
  • Fastener/Hardware knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Military, trade school or equivalent experience is preferred
  • 3 years’ manufacturing experience, preferably in the assembly and/or service of automated equipment or machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble components using hand and power tools per engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Conduct functional and diagnostic testing using shop test equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on assemblies and equipment
  • Perform soldering operations to IPC and RoHS standards
  • Handle components using ESD protocols and procedures
  • Execute first article builds and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
  • Perform assembly and repair tasks on both new and refurbished equipment
  • Meet defined takt times and assembly throughput targets
  • Maintain adherence to quality control standards during all phases of assembly
  • Work overtime as scheduled to meet production deadlines
  • Maintain consistent and reliable attendance per shift requirements
  • Accurately complete work order documentation and quality forms
  • Follow all applicable industry standards, safety protocols, and internal procedures
