This Mechanic Apprenticeship will ensure the efficient and reliable operation of high-speed processing and packaging equipment. This includes troubleshooting, analyzing root causes, supporting improvements, testing, installing, and conducting all mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance. As an apprentice, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards, ensure safety processes are observed, and quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in your area and equipment and report them. During your Apprenticeship, you will attend class 2-3 days a week for approximately 6-8 semesters. You will work at the Bakery in parallel with your class schedule for a combination of up to 40 hours a week between school and work combined. Class and work schedules are aligned with your Supervisor/Trainer at the beginning of each class/semester. The costs of tuition, books (stipend), and tools are covered by Mondelez if the apprentice achieves program requirements set forth by Mondelez. You will perform all duties in compliance with plant rules and practices regarding safety, conduct, sanitation, and good housekeeping. You will ensure conformance with all Safety, GMP’s, health code regulations, NEC, NFPA standards and Food Safety Policies.
