About The Position

RQ Construction is actively seeking experienced Mechanical and Piping Insulators to support ongoing construction projects at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. All work will be performed on military installations, with compensation provided in accordance with Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements applicable to the project location. This position is responsible for installing insulation on mechanical piping systems, ductwork, and related equipment to maintain temperature control, improve energy efficiency, and support system performance. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of mechanical insulation practices, experience using industry-standard tools and materials, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in active construction environments. All duties must be completed in compliance with established safety procedures and in support of RQ Construction's Mission, Vision, and Values. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of four years of journeyman-level experience or equivalent experience as a mechanical or piping insulator in commercial construction or facility operations
Ability to work safely and efficiently in active construction environments
Strong knowledge of mechanical insulation practices
Experience using industry-standard tools and materials
Provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
Successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).

Nice To Haves

Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program through a union, military, trade school, or employer-sponsored training program strongly preferred
Prior experience on military, government, or large-scale commercial construction projects preferred
