We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineer to support structural analysis activities for reactor pressure vessel and internal components in the advanced nuclear business. You will work closely with a diverse technical team to perform engineering analyses that demonstrate compliance with the ASME BPVC Section III and generate dynamic loads due to seismic and large pipe break. This position provides the opportunity to work on safety-critical components and contribute to the development and deployment of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technologies. You will also collaborate with cross-disciplinary Engineering Teams to ensure successful execution of assigned engineering tasks in support of the SMR projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience performing structural analysis, internship may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting finite element analysis (FEA), including evaluation of mechanical and thermal loadings under both static and transient conditions, preferably using ANSYS Workbench or APDL. Internship may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering
  • A valid Ontario P. Eng. seal for Canadian candidates and a PE license for U.S. candidates are preferred.
