About The Position

Lead innovative product development for aerospace sustainment by combining additive manufacturing, advanced engineering analysis, and end-to-end product ownership. This role supports sustainment activities for aerospace and other equipment components. Tasks include reverse engineering, CAD design, 2D drawing with focus on application of GD&T, analysis and simulation for selected components. The engineer will be responsible for the overall development effort as a "Product Owner" following all product development process steps for the project and collaborate with various groups for manufacture and qualification test, through project completion. This role is also responsible for providing FEA analysis support to other team members. Other efforts include development and delivery of training materials, participation in various technical challenges and team support activities. This role will be working in a highly agile environment, therefore, being a team player and having flexibility, adaptability, and attention to detail are key to success.

Requirements

  • BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 5+ years of experience working in an engineering role
  • 5+ years of experience with Computer Aided Design software, preferably SolidWorks
  • 5+ years of practical experience in 2D drawing generation, including application of GD&T
  • 2+ years of product development experience
  • Practical experience reverse-engineering products/projects
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes such as casting, forging, extrusion, CNC machining, injection molding, thermoforming, etc
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to perform extensive research, catalogue findings during development activities, and write reports for both internal and external use
  • Effective interpersonal communication and presentation skills with coworkers and clients at all levels
  • Self-motivation with ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work on US government contract
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. Degree in engineering
  • Experience with Additive Manufacturing, including print file generation
  • Experience with FEA (ANSYS preferred)
  • Experience with Model Based Definition generation
  • 8+ years of experience in product development
