About The Position

Fox Rent A Car is hiring a Mechanic to help keep its rental fleet safe, reliable, and ready for customers. The role performs medium-to-light mechanical repairs and replacements, preventative maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, and safety checks. Mechanics document work on Repair Order Record sheets and create an Electronic Repair Order (ERO) for every vehicle serviced. They also report persistent issues or defects to the Fleet Manager/Supervisor. The position requires an ASE certification, a high school diploma, GED, or technical school graduation, and 2–3 years of automotive technician experience. The work schedule is flexible and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• ASE certification(s).
• High school diploma, GED, or technical school graduation.
• 2–3 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within established timeframes.
• Comfort working in varied conditions, including weather, hazardous materials, and noise.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Previous automotive technician experience with fleet or vehicle rental companies.
• Experience with preventative maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and safety inspections.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• A basic set of hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform medium-to-light mechanical repairs and replacements on fleet vehicles.
• Conduct regular oil changes.
• Rotate tires as part of preventative maintenance.
• Monitor tire tread depth and replace tires when necessary to meet safety requirements.
• Ensure the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) functions properly and has no warning lights.
• Verify that vehicle controls, including lights, brakes, and electronics, work correctly.
• Conduct thorough vehicle safety checks before releasing vehicles for rental use.
• Document each repair and service on the Repair Order Record sheet.
• Create an Electronic Repair Order (ERO) for every vehicle worked on.
• Communicate persistent vehicle issues or defects to the Fleet Manager/Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs and objectives.
