About The Position

Fox Rent A Car is seeking an ASE Certified Technician to keep its rental fleet safe and ready for customers. The mechanic performs medium-to-light repairs and replacements, preventative maintenance, vehicle safety checks, and related documentation. The role also communicates persistent vehicle issues to the Fleet Manager or Supervisor and supports other business needs as assigned. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, and work in conditions involving weather, hazardous materials, and noise.

Requirements

• ASE certification(s) required.
• High school diploma, GED, or technical school graduate.
• At least 2–3 years of experience as an automotive technician, ideally with fleet or vehicle rental companies.
• Experience with preventative maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and safety inspections.
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostics and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within established timeframes.
• Comfort working in varying conditions, including weather, hazardous materials, and noise.
• Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• A basic set of hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform medium-to-light mechanical repairs and replacements on fleet vehicles.
• Conduct oil changes and tire rotations as part of preventative maintenance.
• Monitor tire tread depth and replace tires when needed to meet safety requirements.
• Ensure the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) functions properly and has no warning lights.
• Verify that vehicle controls, including lights, brakes, and electronics, work correctly.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks before releasing vehicles for rental use.
• Document every repair and service on the Repair Order Record sheet.
• Create an Electronic Repair Order (ERO) for every vehicle worked on.
• Communicate persistent vehicle issues or defects to the Fleet Manager or Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs and objectives.
