About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Diesel Mechanic in Abita Springs, LA! We are looking for a skilled professional in mechanical systems who is motivated by keeping a supply chain in motion. In this role, you will be maintaining and optimizing equipment, serving as an essential partner ensuring the safe and efficient transport of critical products. You will expertly maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel tractors and specialized systems to ensure all equipment meets DOT standards and safety protocols. You will implement creative solutions to ensure smooth equipment flow and translate maintenance reports into impactful service strategies. You will also partner with the team to communicate technical needs clearly while cultivating a "Safety First" environment focused on proactive maintenance.

Requirements

1+ year of automotive maintenance/mechanical experience
Experience with a variety of basic hand, power tools and equipment.
Knowledgeable in gasoline engine mechanics and preventative maintenance.
Valid Driver’s License (non CDL).

Nice To Haves

Ideally, you bring your own basic hand tools.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years technical college or military technical experience.
Familiarity or interest in cryogenics.
Familiarity or interest in hydraulics.
Class A CDL with HazMat; DOT brake certification is a plus (Not Required).

Responsibilities
