About The Position

As a Mechanic supporting our can line operations, you will help drive safety, quality, and efficiency across high-speed production equipment. Your responsibilities include operating and maintaining can lines while performing and documenting quality checks and measurements. You will take ownership of product quality and line efficiency, seeking supervisory support only for unusual quality or operating issues. You will diagnose mechanical and quality-related problems, identify required repairs, and return equipment to service with minimal downtime. You will move pallets, tooling, barrels, boxes, and cartons as needed to support production. You will record product and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. You will maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, follow all safety regulations, and promptly report hazards or unsafe conditions. You will collaborate with supervisors and team members on improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or similar production environment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency using measuring hand tools to set up and maintain can line machinery
  • Strong critical thinking and logical problem-solving ability
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working at heights, including ladders and elevated platforms
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Journeyman Mechanic
  • 2 plus years of industrial mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crawl, squat, and stand for long periods—up to 12-hour shifts while operating machinery
  • Adequate upper-body strength to repeatedly pull or push hand tools for equipment repair and adjustments
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to remain in constant motion
