Mechanic - Utility Trucks and Equipment
About The Position
Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is hiring a Mechanic/Technician experienced in the maintenance and repair of truck-mounted utility equipment. This role involves working on diesel engines, chassis, drivetrains, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems, utilizing software diagnostics like Bendix, Wabco, Cummins Insite, and Nexiq Diagnostic Link. The position operates on a day shift from 7:30 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime and limited Saturdays. Requirements
- 3 years plus experience with utility truck equipment, diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment.
- Experience with Hydraulics, Electrical, Drive Train, Suspension.
- Experience with Software diagnostics such as Bendix, Wabco, Cummins Insite, and Nexiq Diagnostic Link.
- Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must have your own tools.
- Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity.
Nice To Haves
- CDL a plus.
- Background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged/worn parts on a variety of vocational/utility trucks and equipment.
- Provide repair and maintenance to medium/heavy duty trucks, with a background in hydraulics and electrical being a plus.
- Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for a variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services, and labor to track costs.
- Submit all work/repair orders to a supervisor for approval.
- Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
