About The Position

The Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Mechanic at the Las Vegas Airport maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and inspects ground support equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Equipment may include fuel carts, hydrant trucks, luggage tugs, deicing trucks, catering trucks, and other related equipment. The role performs preventative maintenance, routine repairs, refurbishments, and safety inspections in accordance with company procedures, and documents maintenance activities and equipment issues. The position requires mechanical experience, knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, personal basic mechanic tools, and the ability to work outdoors in physically demanding and potentially hazardous conditions. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record under company standards.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Maintain reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime, as operational needs require.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and applicable background checks, including federal fingerprinting, as required by regulations.
Access all areas of the airport necessary to perform job duties, including secured areas, in compliance with airport and federal regulations.
Obtain and maintain any required government security clearance; employment depends on successful completion of applicable background checks and clearance requirements determined by the contracting agency.
Have a minimum of one to two years of mechanical experience in automotive, diesel, HVAC, refrigeration, or related fields.
Have general knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including engines, hydraulics, batteries, and diesel equipment.
Provide and maintain a personal set of basic mechanic tools, including wrenches, ratchets, socket sets, screwdrivers, power tools, Allen wrenches, and a voltmeter; specialty tools are provided by the company.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and apply effective problem-solving skills.
Work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
Read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guidelines, and procedural manuals.
Communicate effectively in English as needed to perform duties and support safe airport operations, including in emergencies or situations requiring a shared language for safety.
Interpret and carry out written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
Use computer systems and common workplace software, including Microsoft Office, data-entry, and operational-reporting systems.
Operate motor vehicles safely within airport environments.
Meet the physical and sensory demands of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, including climbing, lifting, prolonged movement, tool use, and required vision and hearing capabilities.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate exposure to noise, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous substances or waste, moving mechanical parts, high-voltage equipment, and high-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Nice To Haves

Experience working on Ground Support Equipment (GSE).

Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on ground support equipment.
Inspect fluid levels, coolant systems, brakes, tires, and other operational components.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
Complete equipment repairs, refurbishments, and safety inspections in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain equipment readiness and compliance with safety standards.
Document maintenance activities and report equipment issues as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
