The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining all equipment, machinery, and the building in good working order and making necessary repairs. This role requires adherence to a shift work schedule, including every other Sunday, and involves coordinating with the Shift Supervisor to ensure maximum production uptime and efficiency. The position also entails overseeing PM Operator functions, diagnosing and correcting issues with pneumatics, electrical controls, and hydraulics, and performing preventive maintenance. A key aspect of the role is managing the maintenance parts inventory according to specific standards and ensuring the proper breakdown, setup, and maintenance of extrusion and thermoforming machinery. The Mechanic will also perform facility shutdown and startup procedures, conduct building repairs, and operate PIT equipment safely. Housekeeping, end-of-shift duties, unloading incoming materials, and assisting with audits are also part of the responsibilities. The role may require overtime and attendance at mandatory training classes.
