About The Position

Join Casey's Fleet Services team at our Ankeny Distribution Center as a Mechanic. As a Mechanic, you'll complete preventative maintenance inspection. You'll troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild major components on vehicles and equipment. You'll ensure accurate diagnosis and effective repair and / or replacement of components.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience performing maintenance/minor vehicle repairs, including brake systems.
  • Valid driver's license and CDL.
  • Maintains certifications on brake repairs and adjustments, a safe driving record, and a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must be available after-hours for calls to repair equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
  • Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, AC, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Advises supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
  • Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
  • Conduct safety checks on vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
