About The Position

This role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment, including troubleshooting, inspections, and preventative maintenance. The mechanic will also be responsible for ensuring safety compliance, assisting with training, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The position may also involve special projects and cross-training in other departments.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience in demonstrating troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, etc.
Mechanical aptitude
Basic computer skills
Possess your own basic tools
Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics
Ability/Comfortable in working at elevated heights of up to 100 feet
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability/Willing to work outside in all weather conditions
Ability to work in the presence of loud machinery
Basic knowledge of SPC fundamentals
Ability to understand and follow all company and Railroad safety policies

Responsibilities

Read electrical and hydraulic schematics
Repair and maintain heavy equipment
Perform troubleshooting and repair of systems and components
Maintain accurate records
Perform detailed equipment inspections and preventative maintenance following OEM specifications
Respond to customer-related equipment requests
Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies and procedures
Assist in delivering required training to ensure co-workers have necessary skills
Communicate consistently on all activities to appropriate individuals and adhere to all company-wide policies
Special projects or work as assigned
Be willing to be cross-trained and assist in other departments
