About The Position

This is a temp-to-hire position for a Mechanic. The role involves performing various maintenance tasks, ensuring safety and environmental responsibility, and working with complex equipment. The mechanic will also be responsible for documentation, planning, and potentially assisting in other trades.

Requirements

Strong level of skill in the use of typical mechanic’s equipment and inspection gauges.
Ability to work from drawings, verbal instructions, or sketches.
Proficiency with the IFS work order system.
Ability to use shop math on a routine basis.
Ability to operate production equipment as required.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to work on-call as required.

Experience filling in for a supervisor.

Responsibilities

Perform all tasks in a safe manner and advocate for safety.
Perform all tasks in an environmentally responsible manner.
Direct and perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
Direct and perform general maintenance tasks.
Install and rearrange complex equipment.
Diagnose complex equipment failures.
Dismantle, repair, and reassemble complex equipment.
Direct the work of others as required.
Complete routine paper and/or computer work (work orders, work hours, parts, etc.).
Assist supervisor, planner, and manager in the planning and scheduling of work.
Use shop math on a routine basis.
Clean debris and lubricant from parts, work area, and equipment.
Occasionally perform work in other trades (i.e., light electrical, mobile equipment).
Operate production equipment as required.
Ensure shop areas, work areas, parts, tools, etc., are kept clean and orderly.
Work overtime as needed.
Work on-call as required.
Fill in for supervisor when needed.
