About The Position

The Mechanic role involves assisting with troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This position is also responsible for assisting with preventative maintenance on trucks, trailers, and yard equipment, ensuring all company equipment is maintained in the best possible condition to minimize downtime. Key tasks include repairing, troubleshooting, and replacing defective parts, lubricating and cleaning components, and operating devices and machines to test performance. The Mechanic must maintain clean and organized maintenance areas, operate overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and hi-los when necessary, and strictly adhere to all lockout procedures.

Requirements

  • A degree or certification in electrical/mechanical maintenance or at least 2 or more years of experience for in a manufacturing/construction environment
  • Welding Certification(s)
  • Crane, Aerial Lift, and Hi-Lo Operation Permits
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Should have knowledge of Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software

Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead crane, aerial lifts and hi-lo when needed
  • Know, understand, and follow all lockout procedures
