This full-time position involves performing preventative maintenance inspections, diagnosing and repairing emission-related problems, and completing scheduled maintenance operations such as lubrication, fluid changes, brake adjustments, and tire rotation. The role also includes performing unscheduled maintenance, complex repairs on engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, brakes, and exhaust systems, and interpreting technical materials. Emergency roadside services, equipment inspection, and accurate documentation of repairs are also key aspects of this role. The mechanic will maintain tools and workplaces, and may be required to perform on-call duties, work extended hours or weekends, and drive vehicles for road tests. Occasional assistance with bus cleanliness and attendance at field trips for passenger safety may also be required.
